In 1975, Farran Research Associates was founded by Gerry Wrixon, Liam Kelly and Sverre Lidtholn, three professors in microwave/mm-wave from University College Cork (UCC), with the focus on manufacturing Schottky Diodes. In 1980, another company named Millimeter Wave Technology was founded by the same professors, with the purpose of primarily manufacturing detectors/mixer products and therefore creating more value and better solutions for the end user. In 1983 the two companies merged and became Farran Technology Ltd., and we started to produce first THz products, and the first sub systems for satellites applications. Throughout these years, Farran has dedicated itself to providing more value and best and most innovative millimeter-wave solutions in the industry.
